This page explains how Build With Me Ghana expects this control to work on the platform. It is written as operational guidance for customers, providers, and support teams.
Purpose of escrow
- Escrow is used when Build With Me must hold the vendor portion of a customer payment until service-specific completion controls are satisfied.
- The platform commission and vendor net amount are tracked separately so reporting, refunds, release decisions, and payouts can be reviewed clearly.
Escrow-backed workflows
- Land and house purchases require title transfer and secure document exchange controls before vendor release.
- Labour and unique contract services require completion evidence and customer confirmation before vendor release.
- Build For Me phase payments are controlled by contract, phase evidence, customer inspection, and admin review.
Escrow release
- Release should happen only after the relevant documents, evidence, confirmation, or admin override basis is present in the order or project record.
- If there is a dispute, admin reviews the order trail, messages, uploaded files, completion evidence, and customer/vendor comments before taking a release, refund, or hold decision.
Escrow limitations
- Escrow is a platform control and must be supported by final legal agreements, settlement account arrangements, dispute rules, and continuity planning before public launch.
- Customers and vendors should avoid off-platform payments because those payments cannot be protected by platform escrow controls.
